What is transformational coaching?
Transformational Coaching supports and energises senior executives who want to develop their behaviours so they are capable of motivational and inspirational leadership. This modern approach to coaching is designed to help people move beyond core leaderships competencies of being able to plan, budget, organise and control, and enable them to unlock the potential of those around them.
Transformational Coaching helps leaders overcome barriers to change, aligning them behind a clear vision and driving innovations that enable their teams and wider organisation to become more productive and successful.
Who needs transformational coaching?
Any leader who recognises the value of their employees and wants to fully unlock their potential will benefit from Transformational Coaching.
The coaching is designed for leaders who want to encourage and develop others, rather than instruct or tell. It’s for people who recognise that by working together and developing the strengths of colleagues, the performance of the team, and the entire organisation, will benefit.
What are the benefits of transformational coaching?
Developing a transformational style of leadership can have a hugely positive impact on colleagues, enhancing both engagement and performance.
By learning to recognise individual strengths and aspirations, leaders can motivate and inspire those around them and achieve sustained high levels of performance.
What does the transformational coaching process involve at AGP?
Leaders who benefit from Transformational Coaching at AGP will become part of a leadership development programme which helps them adopt the behaviours of highly effective leaders.
The programme considers the leadership style of the particular organisation and how a transformational style of leadership that motivates and inspires others can complement existing leadership team capabilities such as planning, budgeting, organisation and control.
We begin with a complimentary discovery session prior to any coaching, to explore how you and your coach might work together.
Our programmes are flexible, however we suggest a minimum of four sessions is then required to put you firmly on the path to sustained self-improvement.
A session normally lasts for two hours. We think of the process in terms of a two-way conversation during which our coach will ask powerful questions and challenge current thinking, feelings or behaviours in a safe and confidential space.
Our carefully curated questions help you self-identify your own solutions, so you instinctively know the actions you need to take to improve your performance.
Flexibility is key and our coaches will make themselves available to ensure clients achieve their desired goals, in their given timeframes.

I would recommend Tony in a heartbeat.
Tony has a wide network across the UK retail market and knows what’s going on across sectors. Tony is able to match his clients to candidates in smart partnerships with close consideration of cultural fit, which is very rare in my experience.
As a candidate, Tony always kept me updated on the progress of any project and then remained in touch throughout the assignment, providing valuable executive support and advice.
I am always grateful that Tony picks up the phone to me frequently with such interesting opportunities
Following a change in career direction, I was fortunate enough to work with Tony in some 1:1 coaching sessions. Tony’s style of coaching is excellent – he builds rapport easily and asks probing, perceptive questions that enabled me to clarify my thought processes.
His challenging but empathetic style really delivered for me. He encouraged me to self-reflect and recognise my underlying concerns. Once I had this clarity, he really helped me to identify and evaluate potential options and alternatives.
I came away from our coaching sessions with real insight into my concerns and a clear action plan to make the positive changes I needed.
I have known Tony for some time both as a client and candidate and he never fails to impress. He quickly and efficiently understands the brief and then delivers strong candidates who have the necessary skills and expertise.
Tony invests time in both his clients and his candidates even when there is nothing specific to discuss. This is what makes him a great search specialist: he is approachable, engaging, warm and incredibly well-networked.
