agp was approached by a leading retailer which had previously retained two other international search firms to recruit a Group Property Director. After 18 months of searching the market, they had delivered no success despite carrying out a worldwide search over an extended period.
There were several candidates well-known to agp who should have been approached but due to the extensive ‘off limits’ policies of these two international search firms, any approach was prohibited.
As a boutique consultancy, agp is not hamstrung by an exhaustive list of companies whose employees we cannot approach.
On receiving the brief, we immediately identified the obvious candidates and made the approaches. Within two weeks, our client was in a position to interview their first candidate. They subsequently moved quickly and within six weeks from the start of the assignment, they had an offer accepted by their preferred candidate who remains a valued member of their team.
