What makes a great interim managing director?
As with any director role, a great interim managing director will have cross-functional skills and experience. They’ll be required to provide immediate action, devise a new strategic direction and work with multiple teams.
Since interim directors have to make tough decisions, they’ll need to be confident, excellent communicators and show great leadership skills. Plus, strategic and flexible thinking is essential – especially since interim directors will only be with the company for a fixed period of time. They’ll need to show a real drive to make changes whilst keeping the team united, alongside balancing multiple day-to-day responsibilities.
