Our client, a leading food retailer requires a Category Director to lead the development of the categories and buying team, ensuring that clear strategies and plans are developed and implemented to drive sales growth, profit, and support the development of their brands. They will drive the development of category strategies ensuring that all buyers have clear objectives and plans to maximise sales growth and opportunities delivering the business requirements for wholesaler and retailer sales and margins.
Have accountability for leading a team and ensuring effective people development and performance management is high on the agenda. Build strong working relationships with Suppliers, demonstrating versatility in negotiating style and the ability to construct joint business plans. Negotiate and agree terms with Suppliers and ensure the team are fully developed to confidently and effectively complete this process independently, all of this experience must have been a gained within either a food retail or food manufacturing environment.
